Launch Event
5th March 2005

At 11am we kicked off with a signing session by local author Leslie Kimm who’s two volume history of the local airfield Wings Over Nazeing had attracted a great deal of local interest and become a bestseller in our shop. Celebrating the development of the airfield over 40 years, the book is beautifully illustrated with original photographs and provides a real insight into the early days of flying in this area. Then at 12 noon Dame Marion Roe, DBE, MP for Broxbourne officially opened the shop by cutting the ribbon, made a short speech about the importance of having a local bookshops back in the town and then presented prizes to the two winners of  our prize draw. Mrs. Tanya Brooks won a voucher for £150 of books and Mrs. Marion Blackman received a voucher for a hand coloured £150 Thomas Ross engraving.

The Hoddesdon and Broxbourne Mercury previewed the event and then ran a report on the event the following week accompanied by a photo.
