Alan Titchmarsh
28th November 2006

Once again we filled Broxbourne Civic Hall to full capacity for an extremely enjoyable and amusing evening where 560 people were entertained by nostalgic anecdotes, poems and even a bit of singing from the incredibly talented Alan Titchmarsh promoting his new memoir Nobbut a Lad. A lively question & answer session with the audience was followed by a two hour book signing marathon at the end of the evening.

The sell out of this event, which was sponsored by Curwens Solicitors, was significantly helped by the enormous amount of local press coverage in the previous two months. This was the third consecutive event which The Mercury featured on the front page of their What’s On magazine in all 4 editions of the paper in mid November with a half page interview inside. Then in the second week of December photos and short reviews appeared on the front page of The Star newspaper on Weds 6th Dec under the headline Alan’s Gardening Digs-clusive, as well as in the Hoddesdon edition of The Mercury on Friday 8th Dec.
