DR NICK BARRATT

As part of the first ever Hoddesdon Heritage Weekend (see our News section for full details) the expert advisor to TV series Who Do You Think You Are will be talking about his new book A Guide To Your Ancestor’s Lives – a practical guide for family historians. The second half of the event will be an Ask The Expertsession with Dr Jill Barber, Director of Hertfordshire Archives and Local Studies joining Nick to answer audience questions relating to their own family or local history researches.

 

Having started his career as a BBC researcher Nick is now not only a TV presenter but a prolific reviewer and commentator on all aspects of history, notably family history. He has worked with a variety of companies, celebrities and TV presenters often compiling their family history. From Richard Bacon to Richard Hammond, Victoria Beckham to Catherine Zeta Jones, Nick’s research has been used for all features of publicity.

Much-loved as the warm, open and quick-witted panelist on Loose Women as well as for her recent appearances in Strictly Come Dancing and the stage version of Calendar Girls, one of our favourite actresses comes to launch her new autobiography: LOST AND FOUND: My Story. With her characteristic humour and emotional honesty, Lynda will talk about surviving two destructive marriages as well as sharing anecdotes about her 40 year acting career which has included roles in All Creatures Great and Small, Second Thoughts and Faith in the Future, plus many years in TV adverts as the `Oxo Mum’.
