Books for Education

We offer a personalised and efficient ordering and information service to a wide range of local schools, colleges and their libraries. We use wholesalers to ensure that we meet most of your book needs within 48 hours, or academic publishers with slightly longer delivery times. We are happy to research any enquiries for subject ranges, title availability and prices via phone, e mail or fax.

PARTNERS IN LEARNING

As part of your local community, we are very keen to work collaboratively with local educational and community groups to set up projects that encourage children’s and older learners' enjoyment of reading and to promote literature across the curriculum. In the past academic year we have participated in a number of activities, including: activity workshops at the shop; school literary events by providing prizes and judging entries; children’s author events with major national authors; and supporting national events, including World Book Day, Adult Learners’ Week and Children’s Book Week.

DISCOUNTS & BARGAINS

We are always aware of the financial pressures on schools so we offer negotiable discounts on specific titles to regular customers, and can provide a range of high quality, new fiction and non fiction books with discount up to 70% of the RRP. We can organise a school book fair for pupils, parents and teachers with substantial discounts and, for Christmas, we hold Book Parties where a host can earn additional income from book sales and learn about new titles.

For College students we provide an efficient direct ordering service via local college libraries and, for students who use our 48 hour ordering service in the shop, give a 10% discount for NUS members.

BOOKS FOR DIVERSITY

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome the opportunity to promote diversity within schools and colleges. Our staff have researched the most suitable titles for learners with Special Educational Needs, in particular, Dyslexia, as well as books that address religious and ethnic diversity, disability and gender. We are pleased to provide advice on recommended titles that meet OFSTED requirements as well those that reflect the diversity of the local community.
