Meet The Author – Past Events

 

Since 2005, as part of our ongoing Meet The Author programme we’ve presented 75 major celebrity names to venues around East Herts. We have just finished our Spring season of five events and we are now working on the Autumn line-up. Our Spring season started with a terrific sell-out event for 600 people at Haileybury featuring former SAS action man Andy McNab where we raised over £1000 for Help for Heroes. Local gardening guru Christine Walkden, who appears regularly on the BBC's One Show, Gardeners World, Gardeners Question Time, etc shared some hilarious anecdotes with a select audience at the Whistling Duck Restuarant near Hertford in early April.

A week later Dan Cruickshank talked with his characteristic passion and enthusiasm about the private stately homes which will be featuring shortly in his forthcoming TV series.

Margaret Ward revealed some of the famous and lesser known people buried in our County's graveyards as part of Hoddesdon Heritage Weekend over the Royal Wedding Bank Holiday weekend; while teen horror author Darren Shan was a great hit talking to a packed audience of over two hundred at Haileybury rounding off the season on 8th May.
